Every girl like to be beautiful, I am no exception. Once, I thought I was fat, in order to look as perfect as the movie stars, I went on diet, I refused the delicious food, which made me sick. Finally, I gave up, I realized that I wasn’t a star, I just need to be myself. Maybe I am not beautiful in outlook, but I can be an excellent girl. To be an excellent girl, I need to read more books. Books indeed bring me the nutrition which makes me different. Books broaden my vision, I see the different sceneries in the books, I feel like I am growing up. I am no longer narrow-minded, I start to treat things in different ways. When other girls are talking about how to look beautiful, I don’t care about it, I just care about how to live my own way.

Last week I saw a young man giving up his seat to a woman with a baby in her arms on a bus. To my great surprise, the woman did not thank the young man; on the contrary, she glared at him coldly, which made him incident set me thinking. If everyone acted like that woman, who would like to help others? And what would our society be like?If anyone gives you a hand, you should express your sincere gratitude to him or her. Only in this way will everyone be ready to help others and feel satisfied with it.

Miss Li is our English teacher. She always impresses us deeply with her lively English class.

One day when the first bell rang, the monitor stood up and said, Our English teacher is going to have an operation today. It has not been decided yet who will give us the lesson. The class turned silent at his words. It seemed that no one would believe him. In fact, all of us were afraid that Miss Li would no longer be with us. At this moment, Miss Li appeared at the door. She looked tired and pale.

I’ll be missing you badly, she said in a low voice, I have asked the doctor to put off the operation till tomorrow because I don’t want you to miss a single class. She went on, A new teacher will take my place and I hope you’ll get on well with him. I’ll come back as soon as I’m better.

Hearing this, all of us were moved to tears. What a good teacher we have.

Many years ago, as the development of technology, robot was created to facilitate people’s work. Robot can do many things for men, like it will accept the order and then carry out it. The most obvious advantage of robot is to caculate very quickly. As robot gets improved all the time, its functions have been largely expanded, most people worry that it will take the place of human brains. Many movies have explored this topic and they came to the conclusion that robot will not take the place of human being. One thing for sure is that men can’t compete with robot on caculating or the computer program, but robot has no feelings, it can’t be the real person. Even it looks like a man, still it is just the machine. It is the emotion that makes the difference between man and machine.

It was one of the hottest days of the dry season. We had not seen rain in almost a month. The crops were dying. Cows had stopped giving milk. The creeks and streams were long gone back into the earth. If we didn't see some rain soon, we would lose everything. It was on this day that I learned the true lesson of sharing and witnessed the only miracle I have ever seen in my life.

I was making lunch for the family when I saw my 6-year old son, Billy, walking toward the woods. I could only see his back. He wasn't walking with his usual carefree1) air2). He was obviously walking with great effort, trying to be as still as possible. Minutes after he disappeared into the woods, he came running out again toward the house. I went back to make sandwiches, thinking that whatever he had been doing was completed. Moments later, however, he was once again walking in that unusual way toward the woods. This activity went on for an hour. Finally I couldn't take it any longer. I crept3) out of the house and followed him.

He was cupping both hands in front of him as he walked, being very careful not to spill the water he carried. I sneaked4) close as he went into the woods. Branches and thorns slapped his little face but he did not try to avoid them. He might have a much higher purpose, I thought. As I came closer, I saw the most amazing sight. Several large deer stood in front of him. Billy walked right up to them, at the sight of which I almost screamed for him to get away. A huge buck5) was dangerously close. But the buck did not threaten him nor even move as Billy knelt down. And then I saw a tiny baby deer lying on the ground, obviously suffering from thirst and heat, lift its head with great effort to lap up6) the water in my boy's hands.

When the water was gone, Billy jumped up to run back to the house. I followed him back to a spigot7). Billy opened it and a small trickle8) began to creep out. He knelt there, letting the drip slowly fill up his "cup".

And now I knew what's going on. The week before, he had made the same trouble with our horses, which caused him a lecture from his father about the importance of not wasting water. That should be the reason he didn't ask me for help. It took almost 20 minutes for the drops to fill his hands. When he stood up and turned back, I was there in front of him. His eyes were filled with tears. "I'm not wasting," was all he said. This time, I joined him, with a small pot of water from the kitchen. I let him tend to9) the baby deer alone for it was his job while I just stood on the edge of the woods watching. As the tears that rolled down my face began to hit the ground, they were suddenly joined by other more more. I looked up at the sky. It was as if God, himself, was weeping with pride. Some will probably say that this was all just a huge coincidence10). I can't argue with that, nor will I. All I can say is that the rain that came that day saved our farm, just like the actions of one little boy saved another.

Let me say something about the picture.

There are two tall trees in it. Under the tree there is a long chair. And there is an old man reading about swimming. Near the old man, there is a boy painting. I think he loves painting very much. Next to the painting boy, there are two boys playing football. They are happy.

But the football is in the river. Near the river, there are three children fishing. They go fishing about twice a week and they always go to the People’s Park. They like fishing. In the river, there is clear water and some fish swimming in it. The sky is clear, the sun is shining brightly, the weather is warm.. There are two birds flying in the sky, they are happy. Wow, that is a fun picture!

Dear friends, can you draw the picture?

Walking is good exercise. I am in the habit of taking a walk after. supper each day. Every day right after supper I walk around the school campus, I especially like the children's corner, where dozens of two or three year olds are playing, laughing and chasing each other. They are like colorful flowers dotting the green lawn.

One afternoon as I was walking in front of the library, beside the lawn, the mother of a two-year-old boy named Chen Ran nodded friendly and greeted me by saying "Walking?" I answered with a smile, "Yes." The child immediately immitated, "walking" and repeated it several times. To each of his utterance I answered with a laughing "Yes."

The next day I was walking at tHe same place as I did the day before. Again I met Chen Ran, the two-year-old boy. He was alone and greeted me, by saying "Walking" I said "yes." Laughing to my amusement, I think the boy is really learning to speak quiekly. So whenever I was walking and when he saw me he would my, "walking."

One day I met Chen Ran. He was having difficulty getting his mini-bike out of the roadside. He said to me, "Walking, you do it." It was not until this moment that I realized he took it for granted that my name was "walking". Amused, I helped him get his bike. And he called me Aunt Walking till he was old enongh to know his mistake.
